About Karina
I am a lawyer at Advodan Næstved, bringing a wealth of experience in social law from my previous roles at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Integration, LOKK (National Organization for Women's Crisis Centers), and Holbæk Municipality. My expertise spans from family law, municipal law, immigration law, personal injury compensation, to civil law.
Family Law
Drawing on my background in social law, I possess particular expertise in family law matters. This includes cases related to parental responsibility, residence, visitation, and placement. I also assist families with wills, prenuptial agreements, and enduring powers of attorney.
I have experience in providing legal guidance to families affected by violence and have previously worked as a legal special consultant in the field of child welfare.
Municipal Law
I offer comprehensive advice to municipalities, with a focus on social services. This involves guidance on residential facilities and other social services for vulnerable children and youth. My extensive experience includes handling social cases where cooperation with the municipality has become challenging, such as disputes over inadequate or incorrect educational offerings for a child or cases involving disability compensatory benefits.
Immigration Law
Specializing in immigration law, I assist with applications for residence permits, visas, family reunification, citizenship, and more. In cases of rejected applications to the immigration authorities, I also handle appeals.
Given the complex and evolving nature of immigration law, I stay consistently updated on regulations to provide the best possible advice, regardless of my client's situation.
Personal Injury Compensation
I aid in seeking compensation for lost earnings, loss of earning capacity, permanent disability, and pain and suffering. The purpose of personal injury compensation is to ensure that the injured party does not suffer significant losses and can continue to lead as normal a life as possible despite the injury.
I provide guidance on personal injury compensation and manage the entire process. These cases involve intricate medical and legal issues, and it is crucial to me that my client receives optimal handling and the right compensation.
Civil Law
I handle a diverse range of cases in court, representing clients from inception to conclusion. I analyse the legal issues and plan the case proceedings, including the strategic and tactical approach.
Preventing disputes is, of course, ideal. When a dispute arises, the solution is not always to file a lawsuit immediately. I can assist with settlement negotiations, ensuring that disagreements are resolved as quickly as possible in an economical and advantageous manner.
When settlement negotiations are not possible, I help prepare legal documents and seek legal aid coverage. I represent the client in court, taking care of all practical aspects so that the client does not need to worry about deadlines, procedural documents, and tactics. My primary goal is to achieve the best possible outcome for my client.
My Approach
I am committed to making legal matters understandable for my clients. I simplify complex issues and focus on the essential elements to achieve my clients' goals. To provide the best assistance, I prioritize listening to and understanding my client's needs, life situation, and objectives. I am present, solution-oriented, and approach my clients with human understanding of their challenges.
Board Involvement
I currently serve as the Vice Chair on the Board of Ringsted Crisis Center, and I am a member of the Board at Orøstrand School and Treatment Facility. Additionally, I act as a substitute member on the main board of the national organization LIVSVÆRK.
Furthermore, I am a member of the Association of Immigration Lawyers, Danish Family Lawyers, and the Association for Compensation and Insurance Law.
