The protection of civil and individual rights is significant and, thus, a business owner may rest assured that agreements and contracts are binding on both parties. Similarly, the Danish judicial system ensures efficient enforcement of agreements and contracts.

In Denmark, as in other countries, however you are well-advised to ensure that all agreements and contracts are made in writing. A well-drafted written agreement is good evidence and documentation of your rights. Also, a written agreement reduces the risk of disputes arising. A written agreement also makes solving any disputes that may nonetheless arise much less complicated.

Although you have a significant degree of freedom of contract in Denmark, you will have to consider relevant EU regulation and specific Danish rules. For this reason, when entering into agreements and contracts in Denmark, it is a good idea to take the advice of a lawyer familiar with the law and practice governing the area, who will ensure that you and your business are able to operate on a legal platform safeguarding you from predators.
